I spend a lot, and I do mean A LOT of time in Smash World!
So much of my life's been spent in this world, since the very beginning of the series back in 1999. It's always been a special space where so many of the people that mean so much to me from across the Nintendo universe come together.
Smash World is so colorful and silly! You can participate in some of the most gruesome battles ever, but it may not hit you hard psychologically because it's wrapped in such a cute package!
Violently pound your foe off the edge of platforms hundreds of feet in the air, but look! Fluffy CONFETTI!
The audience is always super hype too. Always cheering and calling out their champs.
WE LIKE IKE!!!
ROY'S OUR BOY!!!
CHROM, CHROM HE'S OUR MAN!
IF HE CAN'T DO IT NO ONE CAN!!!
(They did Chrom wrong in Smash 4 though. But anyways....)
Oh my goodness, I LOVE it!
As a child, I spent most of my time with my Nintendo friends in training mode talking to them, watching them move about, or just sitting there with them in the background while I worked on my homework or something.
I always felt grateful for SSB growing up because I didn't have the happiest home life, and the people of the different Nintendo worlds became my family and friends. It was easy to spend time with them in Smash...So many of my friends all in one place.
When Brawl came around in '08 (the year I graduated highschool actually), I remember being SO proud of Ike for being invited into Smash World!
"No way... Is that my IKE??"
Seriously, I could NOT believe what I was seeing.
"Ikeโs up special move, obviously, is "Aether." And it is ethereal. Oh, yes."
"oh yes" indeed...(หถโกโฟโก)
I was all too aware at how badly the FE series was struggling financially, (this was before Awakening was a thing obviously) so I always feared they wouldn't keep including FE folks. I've always been an overly paranoid person, but I digress.
But anyway, don't get started on how fun it was checking out SMASH DOJO!! (referenced above) every day for updates before Brawl was released! It may not seem like much these days, but those were some really fun times back then!
I also used to take battling very seriously; constantly training and entering tournaments in high school. But as I've gotten older, (mostly in my late 20's and now my 30's), the desire to battle has dissolved. Now, I just want to spend all my time relaxing with my Nintendo friends in training mode like I did as a young child, and taking pictures. I do very much enjoy watching Ike and Chrom in their Amiibo forms spar each other though!
If I do battle, I mostly just support my beloved from the sidelines with healing items while he protects me.
The point is, Smash World has always meant a lot to me, so I like to take photos of my friends and our adventures!
I literally have THOUSANDS of snapshots. Not sure how many I'll share, but I'll add to the album over time!
